Jalisa Lewis, MSW, LCSW
Jalisa graduated with her Bachelors of Social Work in 2010 from East Carolina University. She began working as a family services coordinator with a community mental health program. Upon graduating with her MSW, she worked with youth involved in the juvenile justice system in both residential and community settings. After spending about 6 years working with DJJ involved youth, she transitioned to working as a social worker on the adolescent unit of a state psychiatric hospital, followed by working on the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care unit at Duke Hospital. Jalisa now works as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the University of North Carolina – Charlotte within CAPS (Counseling & Psychological Services). She also serves as the coordinator of Community Intervention for UNCC’s Multicultural Mental Health and Equity Initiative (MMHEI).
