Joshua Perez
Joshua Perez grew up in the lowest income community in the United States. In middle school, his mother & father were first incarcerated, then again in high school. Coach Perez was raised by his grandfather who was a poor, migrant field worker.
He overcame his circumstances to graduate from high school as the president of his class. Was accepted to the prestigious Abilene Christian University. Where he was a four year starter & captain for a Division 1 football team. While at ACU, there were difficult times where Coach Perez felt like he didn’t belong. Being a first generation college student, he faced many challenges but is proud to say he is the first member in his family to graduate from college.
Coach Perez had many family members tell him that his dreams of going to college were too big. Coach Perez believes that if he was able to overcome his circumstances to accomplish his dreams that any student can. As long as they PUSH and HANG ON to their BIG DREAMS. He is passionate about helping students believe in their dreams and helping educators recognize that they can help EVERY student.
